He explored the extensive northwest country years before serious hostilities occurred and acquired a knowledge of its topography, climate, and resources that proved to be exceedingly valuable. Kelly campaigned with Miles against hostile Indians in Montana, North Dakota, and Wyoming. Fine, bright, tight copy in dust jacket with light wear to the corners, a small closed tear to the bottom edge of the front panel and a small closed tear to the top edge of the rear panel.
