Will oversees the payoffs to county officials to facilitate the development. When Will begins to suspect that his wife is having an affair with the disposal site's geologist, he goes to the man's home to confront him .... only to find the man's dead body and a shadowy figure fleeing over a fence. Will is tried for the murder and acquitted. Haunted by the fact that he was acquitted for the wrong reasons, Will is determined to find out who set him up - and more importantly, why?
