Founded in 1831, it closed its doors on Christmas Eve in 1935. At one time it was the largest center of production of cotton denim fabrics in America. Information, written in French, on the factory and its employees, various parks, Lake Massabesic, Mount Uncanoonuc, reasons that one should stay in Manchester, advantages for business, etc. Profusely illustrated with pictures of important buildings, churches, streets, schools, monuments, parks, scenery, agricultural scenes, numerous pictures of the interior of the factory, etc. At top of title pages is written in blue ink, "Property of Walter S. Wheeler, 790 Amherst St., Manchester, N.H., U.S.A." Title page lightly soiled and interior spine is neatly reinforced with archival tape along with light wear to the extremities of the covers. Very good. A nicely produced item. 4 pages of statistics.
