Publication: 1934 & 1936, NP
All Engravings 4.125" x 3.125", centered on a 6.75" x 5.5" sheet. Like the postage stamps, each engraving produced in a single color, and each stamp & matching engraving produced in a different color. In 1934, the Post Office Department issued a series of 10 stamps, each depicting a scenic vista in one of the National Parks. In 1936, the engraver, Harry L. Peckmore, created larger copies of the images on each stamp. These were then distributed to subscribers of a stamp magazine. Offered here are 8 of the series, each the combination of an unissued stamp and the matching larger engraving: Acadia National Park, Crater Lake National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, Mesa Verde National Park, Mt. Rainier National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite National Park, and Zion National Park. All are in Fine condition, and suitable for framing. Attractive engravings.
