Publication: Typed letter, 1904, Fort Worth
First edition. 8 1/4" x 11" typed letter addressed to the law firm of Cofer & Thomason, Gainesville, Texas, dated June 22, 1904. The letter is signed by George Beggs, Manager of the Stockyards Station, Fort Worth Texas of Greer, Mills & Co. Beggs writes concerning a purchase that amounted to $343.95 that was presented and paid on this day. Beggs says further: "We note your fee is $40.00 for the service in the transaction, and while we do not wish to appear dissatisfied with the charges yet we think it is just a little bit in excess of the reasonable remuneration for the service rendered. We have always paid liberal fees for matters of the kind concerned, but we do think that you have raised the limit a little bit. You can think the matter over, and if you conclude we are right, you can send us a check for the difference." Fold creases else a very good copy.
