First edition. 4to. Signed by the author on the title page. Pictorial stiff wrappers, x, 134 pp., sources, acknowledgements, introduction, illustrated from photographs. The life story of Louise Foucar Marshall (1864-1956) and her husband Thomas Keith Marshall (1870-1931). She arrived in Tucson and became the first woman professor in Arizona. She was an astute business woman and had many real estate investments near the University of Arizona. Eventually she funded a charitable foundation known as the Marshall Foundation. Her marriage to Tom Marshall soured over time and he was accused of infidelities and with trying to poison her through the use of arsenic poisoning. A long trial ensued and Louise was found "not guilty." An interesting and fast-paced read. Fine copy.
