5 3/4" x 3 1/2" color fan-shaped card showing a young child on front of card and with products and addresses on rear and showing a windmill at top and bottom of card as well as a farm scene with a windmill at the center. In 1866, Flint & Walling began operations on the corner of Mitchell and Oak streets in Kendallville, Indiana. When first established, Flint and Walling built hand-operated water pumps as well as the Flint & Walling windmill, a revolutionary product that quickly spanned the globe. Their Star Wind Mill was patented in 1878. Unlike other windmills at the time, the Star turned counterclockwise. It played a crucial role in providing water to American homesteads and farms. Card lightly soiled and with a 1/4" closed tear at edge. Very good.
