Publication: Methuen & Co Ltd, 1925, London
First edition. Author's first book. Faint evidence of the use of an embossing stamp tp lower portion of front, free fly leaf else a very good copy without the original dust jacket. The author became Roman Catholic chaplain at Oxford University in 1926, one year after the publication of this title. Four men of different backgrounds form a committee to investigate the death of Mr. Brotherhood whose body was found near a railroad viaduct adjoining the Paston Oatville golf club to which all of them belong as members. Each member of the committee makes his contribution to help learn the identity of the murderer. Haycraft/Queen Cornerstone mystery and a very scarce title.
