First U. S. edition. A very good copy in a beautiful, fine dust jacket. In a case of mistaken identity, a soap salesman is mistaken for another person as his brief case is switched and the man bearing a striking resemblance to him is knocked down and killed by an automobile. When he opens the case he doesn't find soap samples, but rather a quarter of a million dollars in diamonds. Diamonds in whose wake murder and mystery follow closely. A very uncommon Crime Club novel.
