The Strand Magazine was probably the most famous of the illustrated story magazines that proliferated in the early 20th century. It was published from January 1891 to March 1950, a total of 710 monthly issues. The magazine published many of the stories about Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle as well as stories by P.G. This volume also features a mystery by Arthur Conan Doyle titled ONE CROWDED HOUR, plus stories by P. G. Wodehouse, E. Phillips Oppenheim, and Mrs. Baillie Reynolds. Also featured in this volume are illustrations by Brock, Rene Bull, H.G. Wells, Joseph Simpson, among others. Lightly rubbed at spine ends and corners, else a very good, clean, tight copy. The fore-edge painting is in fine condition.
