Publication: The Macmillan Company, 1920, New York
First edition. Cloth, 290 pp. + adv. Illustrations, map, facsimiles, bibliography. A well-written account of the exploits and adventures of Jedediah Smith. Enlisting to join the fur trapping expeditions of Wm. H. Ashley and Andrew Henry in 1822, Jedediah Smith explored much of the west before being killed by Indians in 1832. An interesting narrative of the lives of the mountain men. A fine, bright copy. The very scarce dust jacket shows light general soiling, as well as some edgewear and minor chipping that has been neatly reinforced internally.
