Publication: The Suburban Press, Publishers, 1911, New York
First edition. Folio. Color pictorial wrappers of a large windmill that was photographed somewhere in rural Michigan. The article "The Social Side of Motoring" appears in Volume XIII, No. 1, July, 1911, and is celebrating Brass Era motoring, and features an excellent article on using automobile travel for social occasions, hosting auto-picnic parties, and specifics on equipment. Mrs. Hitchcock was one of the most prolific and enthusiastic early proponents for women driving, and her columns appeared from 1904-1913 in a variety of periodicals along with Suburban Life. The color illustrated advertisements for Pierce Arrow, Lozier, and Oldsmobile are especially attractive. Tiny nicks to the fore-edges of the covers and a few pages with small corner creases else a very good copy of an attractive magazine.
