Publication: William H Andre Publisher, 1931, Denver
First edition. 8vo. Bright red pictorial cloth, titles stamped in blue on front cover and spine, [4], 364 pp., foreword, illustrated. An interesting account of the life of Wild Bill. The author, who claims to have known Hickok, tells an exciting story with which Ramon Adams takes strong exception. Claiming that the McCanleses were desperate horse thieves, Eisele goes on to support other accounts by authors J. W. Buel, Emerson Hough, and Col. George Ward Nichols, in which he has Wild Bill "fairly whipping 10 acknowledged desperados" from the McCanles gang. Many other thrilling events in the life of Wild Bill are related. Light offsetting to the front and rear free fly leaf, else a fine, bright copy in a bright, fresh dust jacket with trivial wear to the spine ends and corners. An exceptional copy.
