First edition. 8 3/4" x 11" in over-sized light blue pictorial wrappers. 48 pp. Illustrations. Offers detailed information about the R.M.S. Queen Mary. The 80,773-ton ship boasted a top speed of more than 30 knots and a crew of 1,100, which was more than one for every two of her full complement of 2,100 passengers. The ship offered three types of accommodations and a stylish Art Deco interior. She had an indoor swimming pool, a library, a children’s nursery and a kennel for the passengers’ dogs. The Queen Mary's engines were capable of approximately 200,000 horse power. All metal work was done in silver bronze; the color palette throughout was golden autumn tints; her lounge was 90' x 70' with it's ceiling three decks high; etc. In May 1936 she set sail on her maiden voyage to Cherbourg and then across the Atlantic. The Queen Mary reached New York harbor on the morning of June 1st. 27 pages of full-page photogravures of both the interior and the exterior of R.M.S. Queen Mary. Over-sized wrappers soiled and with wear to the extremities.
