Publication: Tulsa Printing, Co, nd (ca 1936) , Tulsa
First edition. Pictorial wrappers, 55pp., frontis, illustrated, portraits. Portrait of author on both front cover and title page. ADAMS 150: #115 says, "Rare. The author traveled over the country giving talks to interested listeners on the subject that crime does not pay and sell his little book for twenty-five cents. The old man was more or less a fourflusher though the records do show that he took part in several robberies. But when he claims to have taken part in the Dalton raid in Coffeyville, but escaped because he was "holding the horses," and claims to have been in the Doolin battle at Ingalls, he was using his imagination." There are five pages of affidavits at the end that serve as proofs of the author's identity. Front and rear covers are moderately chipped, but words are not affected, and text is tight. A very good copy of a rare title. Preserved in a four-point slipcase with gilt-stamped leather label on spine. ADAMS 150: 115. SIX GUNS 1831.
