Volume Three introduces a new period in the life of this detective novelist. The turning point was in 1944 when she began reading Dante for the first time and her life was changed.

Volume Four is the final volume of The Letters of Dorothy L. Sayers which span the last seven years of her life. In this time period she finishes her translation of Dante's Purgatorio and brings out two volumes of lectures, Introductory Papers on Dante and Further Papers on Dante.
