Maroon cloth, 221 pp., introduction, many illustrations from old photographs. An interesting and important account of Kiowa history. Much on Satanta, Kicking Bird, Lone Wolf, Hunting Horse, the Cut Throat Massacre, et al. The author interviewed many of the oldest Kiowas and used the information as the basis for this book. Book contains twenty chapters and each chapter is a history or life experience of a Kiowa Indian. "The motive in writing these historical articles is to preserve the history of the Kiowa People. These articles are largely limited to the time the Kiowas came to the area of the Wichita Mountains." There are a few Custer references. Fine without dust jacket, as issued.
