After the purchase of the North West Territory from the Hudson Bay Company in 1873, Canada found it needed to curb lawlessness in the area and the North West Mounted Police was born. The job could not have been done without the contribution of the horse, and the Canadian government has paid tribute to the horse by a selective breeding and training program established in Pakenham, Ontario. The famous "Black Beauties" have been recognised and desired all over the world. This is their story. Fine in dust jacket.
