Rittenhouse 473 says "Fort Riley was named for Major Bennet Riley, who commanded a dragoon escort on the SFT. The fort was established to provide military protection on the Kansas frontier and along the SFT. A useful source for any study of military activities along the Trail." Six Guns 1770 says "Scarce." "Gives some examples of Wild Bill Hickok's shooting prowess." A fine, bright, copy with both folding maps in fine, unused condition. An exceptional copy.
