Two novelettes, Lady In Hiding, originally appeared in "The Saturday Evening Post" in 1950 under the title The Frightened Lady, and Lady With A Past was first published in "Bluebook Magazine" in 1951 under the title Spell Of Evil. Lady In Hiding is set in Newton, Masschusetts as a young man courts a young woman, and on the day they were to be married, the prospective groom finds a strange girl, unmistakeably dead, in his fiancee's apartment, and she has disappeared. Lady With A Past is about a man who hires a mysterious young woman as his secretary, and through a startling incident they both are plunged into a world of blackmail, violence, and murder.
