Publication: E A Brininstool, 1920s-1930s, NP, 1920's-1930's
First Edition. Copy of a typewritten account by Brininstool. 14pp. We are uncertain as to whether this account was ever published by or for Brininstool. It's an informative account of a significant battle with Cheyenne Indians fought in northeastern Colorado in 1868. The suffering wounded endured several days, trapped on a small island in the river, before being rescued after scouts were able to escape and summon help for the besieged group. At the bottom of page 14, Brininstool has written in pencil: "Pard-This is the place I want to visit on the Denver trip + where I'd like to meet you + return to L.A. with me. It is in Yuma Co. Cool. near the Nebraska line. Needn't send this back. Waste basket after you read it--but it's all true. E. A. Brininstool". Corrections on several pages, paper is tanned and is stapled into a manilla folder. Very Good.
