Publication: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1925, New York

First edition. 8vo. Author's second book. Quarter cloth and pictorial boards, titles in brown on the front cover and gilt on the spine, xii, 241 pp., numerous illustrations by the author. "His first two books, Cowboys North and South and The Drifting Cowboy are high spots, for my money."---Jeff Dykes. Seven stories revolving around the adventures of a lanky cowboy named Bill whose drifting takes him throughout the West as he lives the hard life of working cowboy. Front and rear endpapers foxed, gilt spine lettering slightly tarnished, else a very good to near fine copy in a dust jacket that would be near fine but for a 1 1/2" closed tear at the bottom edge of the front panel and some minor wear to the spine ends and extremities. Appears to be a variant jacket as it is lacks the promotional commentary on the rear flap and the four reviews on the rear cover. Very much a superior copy of the author's second book. Very uncommon in dust jacket.
