This is believed to be the second issue of the first edition, but the first issue with the illustrations. Red cloth, titles stamped in gilt on the front cover and spine, xiv [2], 353 pp., preface, frontispiece, illustrated. Very difficult copy to locate in a decent dust jacket. Everything you want to know about being a cowboy. Information on ranching, cattle drives, gear, daily work, breaking horses, the Johnson County War, etc. Fine, bright copy in dust jacket unprinted on the rear cover, with small chips to head of spine, corners and top of front cover.
