Publication: Little, Brown and Company, 1940, Boston
First edition. Author's first book. A small light brown stain to bottom of front free fly leaf, else a fine bright, tight copy in a bright fresh dust jacket with a faint vertical crease to the spine panel and two tiny closed tears to the top edge of the rear cover. Columnist Larry Ray's diary threatens eight people whose names are included in it. A publisher signs a contract for the diary's publication and soon after is found murdered. Who among the eight fears exposure enough to kill? This is the nicest copy of this title that we have seen in years. It is an exceptional copy.
