HERD 2460 says, "A story of the Callaghan Ranch in Texas with many scenes of the ranch, cattle, and cowboys." An inked gift inscription at the bottom of the title page Watt: Regards, David Beals 2/21/44." David T. Beals, Sr. along with George D. Ford and Thomas Atlee Coleman purchased the Callaghan Ranch in June, 1908. Watkins Reynolds Matthews (1899-1997) was the youngest of nine children of Sallie Reynolds and John Matthews and was considered the "Dean of Texas Cattlemen" as well as the owner of Lambshead Ranch. This book was privately printed and not intended for library distribution. Covers lightly rubbed and soiled. light wear to over-sized edges else a very good copy.
