Publication: Privately printed, 2009, N P
First edition. 8vo. Black cloth, titles stamped in gilt on the front cover and spine, x, 254 pp., author's preface, acknowledgments, illustrated, chapter end-notes, index. The author made extensive use of Roberts’ correspondence and reports in the Texas State Archives to tell this unblemished story of the intrepid Texas Ranger Captain. Besides being an effective Indian fighter, he served mostly in Menard and Kimble Counties where there were more outlaws and cattle thieves than any other Texas counties at the time. This narrative reveals a lot about Roberts not printed elsewhere. As new, unread copy without dust jacket, as issued.
