Vogeler Company was to manufacture proprietary medicines for human beings and livestock. Several advertisements advise us of cures for pain, sprains, cuts and bruises, rheumatism and backache, swellings and soreness, chafings and eruptions, household accidents, etc. by using St. Jacobs oil at only 50 cents a bottle. The elixir is also available to farmers and horsemen to relieve all types of ailments for livestock. A neat booklet that while promoting the advantages of their product also provides humorous stories and sayings taken from other publications. Stories by Sweet & Knox, in Austin, Texas, editors of "Texas Siftings," Bill Nye, editor of "Boomerang" of Laramie, Wyoming, Joel Chandler Harris of Atlanta, Georgia offers "Constitution," plus many other offerings. Original illustrations in black & white are provided for each story. Covers have a small hole with a string inserted and booklet was hung on the wall for ready reference, covers lightly soiled, three small corner creases to last two pages and rear cover, else a very good copy.
