First edition. Pages uniformly tanned, red top edges bright, else a fine bright copy in a lightly rugged dust jacket. The red top stain is bright and even and the pages, while lightly tanned, are without the usual heavy browning to the text. The first collection of these five stories in hardcover format. Spanish Blood, The King in Yellow, Pearls Are A Nuisance, Nevada Gas, and Trouble Is My Business first appeared in the pages of Black Mask and Dime Detective magazine between 1935-1939. Not a difficult book to find, but a cheaply manufactured volume usually found worse for the wear. An exceptional copy.
