5" x 7" oblong in color pictorial wrappers with color vignettes of all 14 stories, tied at spine. 28 pp. Peck's Bad Boy was the fictional star of newspaper stories and books created by George W. Peck in the late 1800s. In the stories, Hennery (or Henry) Peck was a mischievous lad who loved to play sneaky pranks on others, especially his father, for the sheer pleasure of creating mayhem. The stories were a huge hit in their era, and the name Peck's Bad Boy became synonymous with any incorrigible rule-breaker. Peck's Bad Boy Cigars used the "Bad Boy," His Pa and several other characters for advertising their cigars. 14 stories along with a 1-page black and white illustration of each story. Stories of various exploits and long suffering of the wretched grocery man to include Peck's Bad Boy and the Groceryman, His Pa Goes Calling and Gets Full, Pa Grabbed Her by the Polonaise, The Gun Reared Up, His Pa is 'Nishiated, His Pa is 'Nitiated, Just as I Am, "Stop Her," Says Pa, "I've Got a Whale," Nothin' the Mazzer with Me, Pet, His Pa Fights Hornets, Looking for the Bad Boy, His Ma Appears on the Scene, His Pa Dances the Can-Can, and A New Way of Taking Seidletz Powders.
