Publication: Hood County Historical Society, ND, NP
First Edition Thus. Blue Printed Wrappers with reinforced spine, as issued. 40pp. Typewritten. Printed on recto only. Originally written in 1901. A rather detailed early history of this north Texas county. It's divided into 3 parts: Why I Write, Frontier Living, and Indian Troubles. Much firsthand information provided by those who were there, or the personal experiences of Barker himself. Much on hangings, lynchings, and Indian Raids as part of everyday life. A lengthy inscription on the front free-endpaper says that Randall Rash, President of the Hood County Historical Society made 40-50 copies and distributed them to Members of the Society. Signed by Miles Hart. Some light wear and some tanning to the edges. Very good or better.
