A very scarce collection of six railroad detective short stories that feature Calvin Sprague, better known as "Scientific Sprague." Sprague works for the government and does all sorts of scientific tests for them such as conducting soil tests, irrigation tests, etc. and solves some crimes while working with the railroad in various capacities.
