The drawing on the dust jacket, according to Frazier in his bibliography of James Books says, "The one very wonderful black-and-white drawing on the dj is not repeated in the book, so if you want all 48 of the separate Will James drawings and sketches in SAND you have to get the first edition in dj." Book covers lightly rubbed at the spine ends, inked non-authorial gift inscription on the title page, former owner's inked name at top of rear pastedown sheet, and pages 319 through 326 inclusive carelessly opened at the fore-edges, else a very good copy in lightly rubbed dust jacket with a small chip at the head of spine and light wear to the spine ends, corners and extremities.
