Many historical articles that give a comprehensive look at the county’s early history, written by many who witnessed it, plus several early pioneer biographies. Six Guns 616 says : "In one chapter the author writes that the James and Younger brothers visited Clay County, where the sister of the Jameses lived for a time. She also tells of a man who came there in 1936 claiming to be the real Jesse James, and says he was quite convincing. Such impersonations went on for years." Fine, bright copy.
