Marshall for his travel to the United States. First page signed in brown ink by El Secretario de Estado y del Despacho de Relaciones. Issued from Palacio del gobierno de Mexico April 27, 1843. The second page is completed by hand for travel "para N. Orleans en el Bergantin Americano Arquitecto. Veracruz Mayo 9 de 1843". Signed by, and with the stamped seal of the Prefectura Distrito de Veracruz. Issued shortly after the death of Presidente Porfirio Diaz. The new Presidente was Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. Interesting to note that on the large imprint of the Mexican Seal and on the Title of the document, five changes have been made by hand to the Seal and Title as originally printed. One horizontal and 2 vertical folds. 1"x2" strips of archival tape have been applied to verso of the document at both intersections of the horizontal and vertical folds. Short splits at fore-edge of horizontal fold. Very good condition for this fragile document.
