5 1/2" x 3 7/8" photograph of Gordon William Lillie (February 14, 1860 – February 3, 1942), known professionally as Pawnee Bill, was an American showman and performer who specialized in Wild West shows and was known for his short partnership with William "Buffalo" Bill Cody. Caption on the verso of photograph says "Pawnee Bill", G. W. Lillie, No other white man ever exerted such influence over the Pawnees." A small chip to to left corner a tiny nick to top edge, and a small nick to left side, else an attractive early image of the showman.
