An excellent study of the important records of the activities, travel, exploration, and fur trade development efforts of this important, and somewhat controversial, early fur trader and explorer. Peter Pond, a native of Connecticut, spent many years on the northern Mississippi and throughout western Canada in the 1760's-1780's. Small spot on upper edge of front and rear panels, and a few scattered light spots on cloth spine. Modest wear to edges of map chemise, maps in fine condition. Original slipcase lightly rubbed.
