The author reminds us of the many broken treaties between the white man and the Indians, and the results of these broken treaties. Many customs of the Indians are reviewed such as buffalo hunting, medicinal cures, sign language, farming, smoking, trapping of beaver, whiskey, hospitality, etc. Also discussed are some battles, raids, Indians as carpenters, cattle rationed to Indians for food by government agencies, recovery of captives, Indian schools and churches, etc. Near fine, bright, tight copy.
