First edition. 14" x 9" cream-colored wrappers, printed in purple, n. p. [14 pp, including covers], illustrated from photographs and drawings, advertisements. The first Cattle Drive down the main street of the City of Chowchilla in Madera County located in Central California began in March of 1958. It became the opening event for the annual Chowchilla Western Stampede. The programs featured the arena records and champions from the previous years, a list of the current participants in the different categories (team ropers, steer wrestlers, etc.), and various advertisements for local businesses. The Stampede events were team roping, calf roping, steer wrestling, and barrel racing. In the program which sold for 10 cents were pages provided for the listing of each event and the names of the contestants entered and a scorecard to determine how each one fared. Stapled wrappers and a very good copy.
