Filmed in 1978 by Warner Brothers using the title Straight Time starring Dustin Hoffman, Karen Russell, and Gary Busey. The film was directed by Ulu Grosbard with screenwriters Alvin Sargent, Edwaed Bunker, and Jeffrey Boam.
