Publication: Ives Washburn Publisher, 1931, New York
First edition. 8vo. Original black cloth, titles in red on front cover and spine, decorated front and rear endpapers, 9-261 pp., red top stain. Revelation of the impact of the Mob at the onset of the Great Depression. The author details how the Mob made its moves into legitimate businesses, extorting and running dry cleaning operations in Chicago, trucking and bus lines in Detroit, fishmongers in New York, going on to suggest that the repeal of prohibition would not stop their efforts. Spine lettering is a bit faded, red top stain is bright, lacking the dust jacket else a good+ copy of an elusive title.
