While visiting the graves of his wife and child, PI Dave Strickland witnesses a young girl being assaulted by a man. When he intervenes, the attacker shoves Dave over a cliff, which results in serious head injuries and lands him in the hospital. The young girl's aunt is grateful for Dave's coming to the aid of her niece and offers to allow him to recuperate at her home. While there Dave suffers nightmares and panic attacks about the girl until her lurking perpetrator is found.
