The following observations comprise the meteorological work of the Survey during the year 1872: 1). instruments used were Green's mountain barometers and thermometers; 2). observations were made and recorded at Fort Hall, Idaho, Bozeman, Montana, and at the camps; 3). the dew point and relative humidity were taken from Glaisher's tables, as published by the Smithsonian Institution. The camps were members of either the Snake River division or the Yellowstone division. Recordings were done daily and hourly with all pertinent information recorded. Several chips to the extremities of the front cover, spine missing as is the rear cover, still a tightly sewn booklet and quite serviceable, housed in a protective cloth clamshell case with titles stamped in gilt on the front cover and spine.
