8" x 27 1/8" color map printed one side on a single 9 3/8" x 28 3/8" sheet. Map marks the proposed route of the Northern Pacific Railroad, from the Great Lakes to the Pacific Ocean. Map shows state boundaries, railroads, cities, towns, military outposts, and notable geographic points, and particularly Yellowstone National Park. Fold creases, old cellophane tape repairs on verso at several fold points, and a cellophane tape repair to the front of the upper front corner, else a good copy. We locate only two institutional holdings for this very scarce map.
