First edition. Very good copy in a colorful, bright dust jacket with tiny nicks to the spine ends and extremities. A detective meets up with a criminal and is ready to arrest him, when local townspeople want to take the law into their own hands. The detective finds himself fighting in the snow to save the man he was trying to arrest. The story is the basis for the classic 1952 film noir "On Dangerous Ground," directed by Nicholas Ray and starring Ida Lupino, Robert Ryan, and Ward Bond. Scarce in dust jacket and this jacket is one of the nicest we have handled of this fragile wartime title. An attractive copy and very scarce in this condition.
