Wells relates his experiences on the plains, Indians, bank robbing, Mormons, etc. An admitted outlaw and murderer originally from Missouri, Wells robbed banks and trains and allegedly killed over thirty men, including an uncle and a jailer. He was convicted of murder in May 1882 and received a life sentence. He died in an Iowa prison. Six Guns 2342 says, "Although Wells was not as popular a subject among writers as others of his ilk, he was quite an outlaw in his day." "Scarce." Near fine, bright, tight copy. The nicest copy we've seen in a long time.
