First Edition. Disbound. 23pp. Senate. 51st Congress, 2nd Session. Ex. Doc. No. 2. Comprised of many reports from various military officers. The Senate inquiry requested the Secretary of War "to inform the Senate as to the possession of arms, ammunition, and implements of warfare by the Indians occupying the reservations in the States of Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and also what steps, if any, are being taken for the disarmament of such Indians." An interesting military perspective, only days before the death of Sitting Bull and the tragedy at Wounded Knee. First and last pages show general dusty soiling, else a very good copy.
