Howes C878 says "The only diary of the first large emigrant train to Oregon; it was issued previously at Washington 1863, in fourteen pages [Senate Executive Document 17]." This is a day-to-day journal kept by an early pioneer as he and his family made their way across the country on the Oregon trail. Crawford records dates, companions, supplies, cattle, accidents and encounters with Indians along the way. Front cover lightly foxed, rear cover missing, internally clean copy with light corner crease to the top edges, else a very good copy.
