Publication: Wood & Company, Printers and Electrotypers, n d (ca 1890), San Francisco
First edition. Small quarto. Textured flexible cloth with black lettering, 464 pp. Illustrations; business advertisements, index. A massive catalogue, issued between 1893 and 1898, from one of California's premier 19th-century wholesale and retail manufacturers of harness, saddles, bits, spurs and saddlery hardware through the turn of the century; in 1894 their top-of-the-line saddle was put on exhibition at the Chicago World's Fair. Their catalogue represented the most comprehensive selection of fine California spurs ever assembled. Bound in a mustard-colored faux alligator material, with some minor cover wear; errata slip tipped inside front cover, a small old water stain to front cover that gradually lessens through the fore-edge of first 20 pages, else a very good copy of one of the largest catalogues of its type that we have handled.
