Publication: Loring & Massey, 1934, New York
First edition. The author's only mystery novel. Inscribed in ink on the front fly leaf by the author: "Mar. 1936 - To Adolph -- A Good Friend, Ray Humphreys." Lightly worn at the top and bottom edges of the spine and covers lightly soiled, else a very good copy in the elusive and bright dust jacket with minor wear to the foot of the spine. The author graduated as a member of Notre Dame's first journalism class and became a police reporter eventually becoming the Chief Investigator for the District Attorney's office, in Denver, Colorado. The story is about a persistent hunch that tells the D. A.'s man that something big is going to happen. The author calls upon his experience as a crime investigator to provide the exciting and authentic inside dope on crime and murder. Sharp copy.
