First edition. 8vo. Original light blue, decorated cloth, 352 pp., frontispiece [portrait of the compiler], preface, introduction, illustrated, plates, portraits. A major work on the subject that covers from 1847 through the 1860s. Also included are the contributions and heroic deeds by the Utah Indian War Veterans. Eberstadt 130: 575 says: "A mine of material on the Indian campaigns and massacres. The author writes from a lifetime in the Utah country, and from pioneer diaries and other original sources." The 16 page 'Supplement to History of Indian Depredations' bound in at the rear. Complete with 34 plates. Previous owner's small name and address label in upper corner of front endpaper. Trivial wear to the spine ends else a near fine bright, tight copy. A nicer than usually encountered copy of this major work on the Utah Indian Wars
